CoMo

WHAT IS COMO?

CoMo is a combination of both cobalt and molybdenum. These 2 nutrients affect the nitrogen supply to the plant, essential for the synthesis of vitamin B12 compounds required by the nitrogen-fixing process. With only one application per year, CoMo can improve sugar content of plants and help plants utilise water in dry years resulting in higher yields. It can be applied by foliar spray or as a seed treatment.

CoMo is formulated to provide accessible cobalt and molybdenum, promote rhizobia presence and improve nodule size.

THE ROLE OF COBALT AND MOLYBDENUM IN NITROGEN FIXATION

Cobalt and molybdenum are both necessary micronutrients for stimulating the process of nitrogen fixation in legume root nodules. Nitrogen fixation occurs through the presence of rhizobia, beneficial bacteria, in root nodules and is important for nodule growth and plant health.

Plants require molybdenum to be able to utilise nitrogen absorbed from the soil. Cobalt is essential for production of vitamin B6 and B12, which is required in nitrogen fixation.

BENEFITS OF CoMo
  • Improves nodulation.
  • Maximises nitrogen utilization.
  • Increases yield potential.
  • Assists with nutrient availability.
